The drinking water cluster was established in 2005. Within the cluster the expertise of NIRAS on for instance integrated real time network modelling, the expertise of Witteveen+Bos and Sogreah (design & engineering on advanced water treatment) and the expertise of Tyréns (infrastructure planning) is brought together. Tyréns and Witteveen+Bos jointly conducted the strategic water supply project of Nortälje in Sweden. NIRAS and Witteveen+Bos have been active on business development in Denmark, Bulgaria, Croatia and Egypt.

The cluster has organized several knowledge exchange workshops. In these workshops, also clients have actively participated in the exchange of expertise.
