This of course challenged the planning of the public transport service and the need for unconventional thinking in the design of traffic solutions arised. The Copenhagen Municipality hired NIRAS for analysing alternative ways of transport service for The Copenhagen Opera House. Sketches of alternative solutions regarding operation of 'harbourbus' (small passenger boats), normal bus, better access roads and parking facilities were analysed. The work resulted in a catalogue of different solutions and subsequently in outline design and analysis of selected solutions.
