DESIGN AND SUPERVISION VOLGERMEERPOLDER

After the second world war the Volgermeerpolder in the Netherlands was used as a municipal waste dump. When barrels with chemicals were revealed, the decision was made to contain and monitor the contaminated soil. The containment comprises 2,5 million cubic metres of soil from the new metro line in Amsterdam and landfill gas drainage system in combination with a top lining. This is the largest soil remediation project in the Netherlands.
